April 2017 Glossybox Unboxing

Once again Glossybox have delivered me five lovely products to try out and share with you!

Firstly I received this SportFX eyebrow pencil in ‘brunette’ which twists up on one side to fill in any sparse areas and has a brush on the other to help keep your brows in shape.

The next thing I saw was this Model co contour stick, I’ve never used anything like this before and am looking forward to using it! I’ll let you know how I get on.

This Radial ‘glamolash’ mascara is supposed to give XXL volume and is the perfect mini size for travelling or keeping in your makeup bag for touch ups throughout the day.

I’ve used a Merci handy sanitiser before in the vanilla scent and absolutely loved it, they leave your hands feeling clean without drying them out. A total handbag must-have.

I’ve heard about co-washing before but never got around to giving it a go so i’m looking forward to testing out this one from Dellwash haircare. It’s supposed to be a lot more gentle on hair and stop it feeling dry and frizzy; definitely something I would benefit from.

Affordable Skincare Routine For Acne Prone Skin

After years of trying out different products of all price ranges in a desperate attempt to clear up my oily, acne prone skin i’ve definitely learnt a lot. Two ingredients which really work for me are charcoal and tea tree, which can conveniently be found in extremely affordable brands, meaning having great skin doesn’t have to break the bank.

Cleanse

Biore Charcoal Cleanser 200ml

I’ve raved about the Biore deep pore charcoal cleanser in the past and i’m still loving it and using it twice a day.

It retails at £4.99

Tone

For toner I’ve been using the Boot’s tea tree and witch hazel cleansing and toning lotion to help remove any excess makeup and grime left over after washing my face. It leaves my skin feeling balanced and looking clear and matte and is a total bargain at £3.59 for a 150ml bottle.

Moisturise

The Boot’s tea tree and witch hazel jelly moisturiser is my favourite at the moment, its light and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and healthy. The only problem is that it doesn’t contain any SPF so I tend to wear a separate sun cream throughout the day to protect my skin. It retails at £4.59 for a 50ml bottle.

Sun Cream

I can’t stress how important it is to protect your skin with a cream containing SPF every day, not only does it protect you from the suns harmful rays it also keeps your skin looking younger for longer – a no brainer really! I haven’t found a facial sunscreen up to now that i love as much as the Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch one so if anyone has any suggestions for a cheaper alternative that isn’t too heavy let me know! I got my current bottle for £10 from Amazon as it isn’t sold in the UK.

Eye Cream

Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream 15ml

Lately i’ve been really enjoying using the Superdrug vitamin e hydrating cream as it’s thick but not too heavy for day use and my concealer applies perfectly on top of it. It retails at only £2.99 which is amazing as one little 15ml tube lasts me a good 6 months.

Exfoliate

I bought this Jason ‘apricot scrubble’ from feel unique around February time as it was on sale but wasn’t really expecting much from it. Since then i’ve used it twice a week religiously to keep my skin soft and banish any pesky dry patches, it’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin whilst still being extremely effective. It retails at £5.49.

Makeup removal

The Garnier pure cleansing micellar water removes all traces of makeup and doesn’t require any rinsing afterwards – perfect for when you can’t be bothered to carry out your whole skincare routine. It retails at around £5 but is on sale quite often.

Updated Morning Skincare Routine

After testing out a multitude of skincare products over the years from Garnier to Liz Earle I’ve always struggled to find products that help to keep my extremely sensitive skin balanced whilst taking care of spots and oiliness. Around a year ago I found the perfect skin care routine to suit my skin and have never strayed from it since!  My skin has never been so clear, moisturised and healthy.

Step 1: Kiehls Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser

Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser

This cleanser contains clay to help control oiliness and gentle exfoliants to leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. I’ve also noticed a huge reduction in blackheads and acne in general whilst using this face wash.

Step 2: Kiehls Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic

This is a brilliant toner for people who suffer from oily skin. It leaves my skin looking matte whilst still feeling moisturised and balanced.

Step 3: Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil Free Lotion

This facial lotion has honestly changed my whole outlook on moisturising your face. All of the other ones I’ve tried have left my skin both feeling and looking greasy. This lotion sinks in within seconds and leaves my skin looking matte yet healthy all day. It’s also a great base for makeup.

Step 4: Benefit’s It’s Potent! Eye cream

This is an amazing eye cream! It sinks in quickly and leaves my eye area feeling soft and soothed.

Step 5:  EOS Lip Balm

I always apply a lip balm before I put my makeup on to keep my lips soft.
