I’m a huge fan of Soap and Glory shower and bath products but had never delved into their skincare selection until recently. I’m so impressed with all of the products I’ve tested and thought I’d share with you some of my favourites.
Bright + Beautiful Radiance-Boosting Mask
This sheet mask is extremely refreshing and leaves my skin both looking and feeling fantastic! It’s a little bit pricey at £3.50 but is definitely worth it as a treat.
Puffy Eye Attack Under-Eye Brightening Hydrogel Patches
These patches are so soothing and help to banish puffy under eyes in half an hour; perfect for before a night out or event. They cost £3.50 for one pair.
DRAMA CLEAN 5-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water
After running out of my favourite Garnier micellar water I decided to try this one out and wasn’t dissapointed, it removes makeup easily and smells lovely. It’s also only £6 for a 350ml bottle.
The Fab Pore Purifying Foam Cleanser
I tried out this cleanser when it was on offer and am so glad I did, It keeps spots at bay without being overly drying and is much cheaper than my usual Murad cleanser at £8 for 200ml. I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.
What are your favourite Soap&Glory skincare products?
With the winter months fast approaching my skin has been desperate for some extra hydration. These three moisturisers are my absolute favourite and leave my skin feeling soft and supple all year round!
Palmers Cocoa Butter
This moisturiser not only smells amazing but leaves skin feeling irresistibly smooth. It also comes in a handy pump bottle and is perfect for everyday use as its thick without being too heavy.
Depending on the size, this retails at around £5
Soap and Glory ‘The righteous butter’
This body butter is amazing! Its so thick and creamy and is absolutely perfect if your skin needs a little boost.
Depending on the size, this retails at around £10
Aveeno ‘Daily moisturising lotion’
As it states in the title, this lotion is perfect for everyday use as it doesn’t have an overwhelming scent and sinks in within a few minutes. It also comes in a pump bottle which is extremely convenient.
Retails at around £7.50
What’s your favourite moisturiser?
1. Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore daily cleanser.
This is honestly the best cleanser I have ever used. It gently exfoliates my skin without being irritating and helps to keep oiliness and blemishes at bay. It is a little pricey at around £18 a bottle, but it lasts a few months and works brilliantly – so its worth it!
2. Soap and Glory ‘girligo’ body moisturising mist.
This moisturizing mist not only smells fantastic, but it absorbs really quickly too, perfect for when you’re in a hurry or don’t feel like using a heavy moisturizer on a hot summer day.
3. Dove summer glow
This gradual tanner gives my skin a natural, glowing tan without the awful smell. It also goes on smoothly, does not go streaky and can be applied just like a normal moisturizer with your hands (as long as you give them a wash afterwards!)
I find that the shade ‘light to medium’ works best on my skin tone.
4. Aussie aussome volume dry shampoo
This is honestly one of the best dry shampoo’s that I have ever used. It doesn’t leave any sort of white cast even on dark hair and gives my hair fantastic volume which lasts all day.
It also smells fantastic, which is a bonus.
5. Kiehl’s ultra facial oil free lotion
This cream keeps my skin feeling soft whilst looking matte and doesn’t cause me to break out. It also sinks into the skin really quickly so you don’t have to wait around before putting on your makeup
After a long week at work I love to unwind and having an evening to myself to do a face pack and pamper myself is the perfect way to do it!
I start off by removing any makeup i have on with my Olay wipes and then i clean my skin with my Garnier PureActive 3in1 wash, scrub and mask as it targets any blemishes.
I then usually light a candle, at the moment i’m using Glade’s spiced apple and cinnamon which smells amazing!
After this I run my bath and wash my hair, at the moment i’m using Tresseme Keratin Smooth shampoo. Then I apply my deep treatment mask which i leave on my ends for around 10 minutes to soak in. These products leave my hair feeling extremely soft and healthy.
After this I use my Soap&Glory Sugar crush body scrub to leave me feeling smooth and get rid of any dead skin. I then wash my body with my passion fruit shower gel from The Body Shop.
After I’ve shaved my legs using my Gillete venus embrace razor I rinse my hair. Once I’m dry I apply my passion fruit body butter from the Body Shop to keep my skin soft and supple and put on my pyjamas.
My l’occitane shea butter foot cream is fantastic at smoothing any dry patches I have on my feet, so I normally apply it after my bath and put on my cosy socks to help it sink in.
The face mask I use (and love!) at the moment is the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask. It’s great for dealing with oily, spot prone skin without being over drying.
When 10 minutes is up I rinse off the mask and apply my Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in light and my Boots vitamin e eye cream.
I would then paint and file my nails and once they dry put on my Soap&Glory hand food hand cream.
And that’s all of my pamper night essential products.
What are your pamper night essentials?
I absolutely love trying out new lip sticks, balms and glosses but always come back to these five products.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in ‘Peach Parfait’
This product is extremely hydrating and lasts for a long time on my lips. It is very buildable and can leave either an extremely sheer hint of colour or can be layered up and look extremely bold.
This retails at around £8.00
Soap and Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss in ‘Punch Bowl’
These lip glosses are amazing, they last hours on my lips and give amazing colour. They also plump up your lips which is a bonus!
They retail at around £9.00
Balmi Lip Balm
This is the most moisturizing lip balm I’ve ever used and it smells amazing too. The packaging is also very convenient as you don’t need to put your finger into the tub you can apply it straight to the lips.
Retails at around £4.99
The Body Shop Lip And Cheek Stain
I got this product out of a magazine and didn’t really expect much of it, however after trying it out I realized just how great it is. It looks extremely bright when first applied to the lips, but after blotting it looks amazing! It gives a subtle red tint of colour which lasts for hours, and looks great with lip gloss on top too.
Retails at around £10.00
I love the rose and almond oil Vaseline, it softens and soothes dry lips whilst giving a subtle red tint.
Retails at around £1.99
What are your favourite lip products?
Each week I’m going to tell you about my favourite thing; whether it be a person, product or something else. My favourite this week is Soap and Glory’s ‘Heel Genius’.
This foot cream is absolutely amazing! I apply it nightly after i shower and pop some cotton socks on and voila! Soft, smooth feet without making any sort of effort. It retails at around £5.50 which isn’t too bad as I’ve been using it for weeks now and still have around 90% of it left.
Why not give it a try?
As much as I love the festive season, it brings about some awful skin issues. So I’m going to share with you products that have worked for me for my hands, feet, body and lips in case any of you endure similar issues.
My hands always get extremely dry, but the winter makes them 100x worse so it’s vital that i have a good quality hand cream. I’ve tried dozens of creams from brands such as The Body Shop and Nivea but nothing works quite as well as Soap and Glory’s ‘Hand food’. It smells divine, sinks in extremely well and makes my hands feel soft and healthy.
Another quick fix is slathering coconut oil all over your hands and popping on some cotton gloves, then go to bed and voila gorgeous hands in the morning! However, if you don’t own any coconut oil you could follow this as an alternative; http://youniquechic.com/2012/06/home-made-mask-for-soft-hands-and-feet/
My elbows and knees are the bane of my life at this time of year, so i make sure that i use an extremely hydrating moisturizer. My all time favourite is The Body Shop’s ‘coconut body butter’ but I’ve recently been using the ‘daily moisturizing lotion’ by Aveeno and it works amazing! It leaves my skin soft and supple and sinks in quickly so i don’t have to wait to get dressed.
I also love to exfoliate once a week with Soap and Glory’s ‘pulp friction’ to get rid of any dead skin. It smells deliciously fruity and isn’t too harsh on my sensitive skin.
I haven’t really found a foot cream i swear by yet, but i always use either coconut oil or olive oil once a week before bed and then sleep with cotton socks on. This banishes any hard skin i have, leaving my feet feeling soft and looking great.
I use this lip scrub once a week to keep my lips in tip top condition; http://youniquechic.com/2011/12/diy-lip-scrub-stop-chapped-lips/
Then i follow up with Vaseline or my mango lip butter from The Body Shop as i find these to be the most hydrating (and affordable) lip balms on the market.
I recently went on holiday to Greece for a week and bought some lovely things that I thought I would share with you.
The first thing I got was this gorgeous leather bag. It cost 60 euros which is great as it’s amazing quality and will never go out of style.
I got this necklace for around 4-5 euros and absolutely love it, it goes with everything and looks a lot more expensive than it is.
This piece cost only 3 euros and gives the effect of wearing more than one bracelet as it wraps around your wrist three times. The blue stones also add a gorgeous pop of colour to a plain outfit.
I got one of these sponges 9 years ago when I last went to Greece and absolutely loved it so I thought I would get another. It cost 3.50 and works amazing at gently removing dead skin.
I’ve been using olive oil in my hair as a mask to make it soft and shiny, so when I saw these soaps I knew I had to try them to see if the oil worked well on my skin too. It cost 3 euros with the pumice stone which is a great deal.
This bow ring is absolutely beautiful, and it only cost me 3.50! It’s quite a statement ring which means that you don’t need to wear a lot of other jewellery with it.
The colours and patterns in this 5 euro scarf mean that it will go with a lot of outfits and will also be perfect for transitioning into autumn.
These light pink high tops look gorgeous with tanned legs and go with almost any outfit. They only cost me 29 euros which is a great saving as I would have paid over £40 in England.
I love this ankle bracelet, it looks best when worn with my converse and a pair of shorts. It only cost me 4 euros too, which is a great price.
Overall, I think I got some lovely pieces and great deals.
Have any of you bought anything on your holidays?
