5 Step At Home Manicure

Doing your nails at home doesn’t have to be a chore and can save you a fortune!

Follow these 5 steps to the perfect at home manicure.

What you will need:

Nail varnish remover

Cotton pads

A nail file

Your favourite nail varnish

A clear nail varnish

Step 1: Remove any old nail varnish

Take off any nail varnish you already have on so that you’re starting with a clean smooth base, meaning a neater manicure.

Step 2: File your nails

Shape your nails in whatever way you prefer, I usually do round as I find it suits me best.

Step 3: Apply a base coat

Applying a base coat is such an important step as it prevents your nails from staining and evens out the texture so your colour goes on better.

Step 4: Colour

Apply two thin coats of varnish for best results and quicker drying. This is my favourite nail varnish at the moment, its in the colour ‘mink’ from M&S.

Step 5: Topcoat

Apply a topcoat to ensure your nails are shiny and help them to stay chip free for longer.

Pamper Night Essentials/Routine

After a long week at work I love to unwind and having an evening to myself to do a face pack and pamper myself is the perfect way to do it!

I start off by removing any makeup i have on with my Olay wipes and then i clean my skin with my Garnier PureActive 3in1 wash, scrub and mask as it targets any blemishes.

I then usually light a candle, at the moment i’m using Glade’s spiced apple and cinnamon which smells amazing!

After this I run my bath and wash my hair, at the moment i’m using Tresseme Keratin Smooth shampoo. Then I apply my deep treatment mask which i leave on my ends for around 10 minutes to soak in. These products leave my hair feeling extremely soft and healthy.

After this I use my Soap&Glory Sugar crush body scrub to leave me feeling smooth and get rid of any dead skin. I then wash my body with my passion fruit shower gel from The Body Shop.

After I’ve shaved my legs using my Gillete venus embrace razor I rinse my hair. Once I’m dry I apply my passion fruit body butter from the Body Shop to keep my skin soft and supple and put on my pyjamas.

My l’occitane shea butter foot cream is fantastic at smoothing any dry patches I have on my feet, so I normally apply it after my bath and put on my cosy socks to help it sink in.

The face mask I use (and love!) at the moment is the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask. It’s great for dealing with oily, spot prone skin without being over drying.

When 10 minutes is up I rinse off the mask and apply my Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in light and my Boots vitamin e eye cream.

I would then paint and file my nails and once they dry put on my Soap&Glory hand food hand cream.

And that’s all of my pamper night essential products.

What are your pamper night essentials?

No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make up Remover

Let me start out by telling you how awfully sensitive my skin is; using something too harsh can cause it to turn into a huge uncomfortable rash. This makes removing my eye make up at night an incredibly daunting task, as most of the time I’m left with puffy, sore eyes.

That was until I started using No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make up Remover. After trying other make up removers from brands such as Simple and having awful results I had pretty much given up. However, after one use of this product I knew I was going to repurchase it. It takes off every last trace of even the most stubborn mascara, whilst still being extremely gentle on my skin. The 100ml bottle lasts for months too as only a small amount is needed to cleanse each eye.

It retails at around £7.75 which isn’t too bad as it works absolutely brilliantly. I honestly could not recommend this enough, especially if you have skin like mine.
