May 2017 Glossybox Unboxing

The first product I saw was this detoxifying activated charcoal body scrub from scrub love with cucumber and bamboo. It is said to be 100% natural and to exfoliate, tighten pores and leave your skin looking and feeling nourished. My skin has been so dry lately so I can’t wait to give it a go!

This sample size of the Caudalie vinosource moisturising sorbet for sensitive skin has a gel-cream to water consistency which is supposed to help soothe and moisturise sensitive skin without irritating it. I’m looking forward to trying it out as it seems quite lightweight for the summer months when my skin is at its oiliest.

The coral shade of this gorgeous Ruby super silky blush suits my complexion perfectly and is definitely a new favourite.

A tube of Dr Paw Paw’s original balm was also included in the box, it is an extremely versatile product. The natural, gentle formula can be used on cuticles, hands, elbows, fly away hair, lips and even as a nappy cream! It’s definitely going straight in my handbag.

The last product was this volumising effect lip gloss from Nutrakiss which is a perfect travel size and leaves me with plumped up lips for hours.

Have you tried any of these products?

This is honestly the best mascara that i’ve ever used, it is also one of Kiko’s best selling and I can definitely see why! It leaves my lashes looking thick and volumised without being clumpy and can be built up for an amazing dramatic look or you can apply less for every day wear.

Makeup/Skincare Wish List

I absolutely love trying out new makeup and skincare products and have my eye on a few that I’m hoping to try out this spring so I thought I’d share them with you.

Benefit Roller Lash

Benefit claim that this mascara ‘grabs, separates, lifts and curls’ lashes, meaning there is no need for a eyelash curler. As a girl with thin, straight lashes this sounds fantastic! I can’t wait to give it a go!

£19.50

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I’ve tried a little sample of this product before and absolutely love it! I’m definitely going to purchase a full sized bottle this spring! It leaves my skin both feeling and looking 100% better.

£36

Benefit Gimme Brow

This ‘brow-volumising fibre gel’ is definitely on my wish list. I have quite dark eyebrows but they can go a bit crazy and there are a few sparse areas, hopefully this brow gel can help to sort these issues out whilst still leaving my brows looking natural.

£17.50

Milani Baked Blush

I’ve used the same two blushers for years and am looking for a new one to try out! Milani seem to have a nice variety of shades with a nice subtle shimmer.

Costs around £9

Urban Decay ‘De slick’ Makeup Setting Spray

I’ve been wanting this setting spray for a long time and think it would be perfect for the summer months to stop my makeup sliding off (if it works that is).

£21

Weekly Favourite – Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

I’ve always been the kind of girl to apply my makeup with my fingers as it seems quicker and blends easily. However a few months ago when shopping in Asda, I saw this brush reduced. After hearing such great things about it, I decided to give it a go. At first I wasn’t convinced, how could a brush like this blend in my makeup seamlessly? I didn’t realise how wrong I was! It gently buffs in makeup and leaves my skin looking flawless! I use it for both my concealer and foundation and it seems even quicker than doing it with my fingers – whilst leaving my hands clean!

Have any of you tried this brush? What do you think?

Pamper Night Essentials/Routine

After a long week at work I love to unwind and having an evening to myself to do a face pack and pamper myself is the perfect way to do it!

I start off by removing any makeup i have on with my Olay wipes and then i clean my skin with my Garnier PureActive 3in1 wash, scrub and mask as it targets any blemishes.

I then usually light a candle, at the moment i’m using Glade’s spiced apple and cinnamon which smells amazing!

After this I run my bath and wash my hair, at the moment i’m using Tresseme Keratin Smooth shampoo. Then I apply my deep treatment mask which i leave on my ends for around 10 minutes to soak in. These products leave my hair feeling extremely soft and healthy.

After this I use my Soap&Glory Sugar crush body scrub to leave me feeling smooth and get rid of any dead skin. I then wash my body with my passion fruit shower gel from The Body Shop.

After I’ve shaved my legs using my Gillete venus embrace razor I rinse my hair. Once I’m dry I apply my passion fruit body butter from the Body Shop to keep my skin soft and supple and put on my pyjamas.

My l’occitane shea butter foot cream is fantastic at smoothing any dry patches I have on my feet, so I normally apply it after my bath and put on my cosy socks to help it sink in.

The face mask I use (and love!) at the moment is the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask. It’s great for dealing with oily, spot prone skin without being over drying.

When 10 minutes is up I rinse off the mask and apply my Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in light and my Boots vitamin e eye cream.

I would then paint and file my nails and once they dry put on my Soap&Glory hand food hand cream.

And that’s all of my pamper night essential products.

Weekly Favourite

Each week I’m going to tell you about my favourite thing; whether it be a person, product or something else.

This weeks favourite is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I absolutely adore this cleanser, it wipes of every trace of my makeup (including the most stubborn mascara) with minimal effort. All you do is massage it into dry skin, then wipe away grime and stubborn mascara using the muslin cloth supplied.

It is a bit on the pricey side at £24 for 200ml however only a small amount is required and honestly, it’s worth paying for a product that really works.

Do any of you have a favourite cleanser? Or have you tried the Cleanse & Polish before?

Makeup Routine For Oily Skin

It’s awful attempting to find a makeup routine to work on oily skin, but after years of searching I’ve finally found one that works for me.

Step 1: Primer

Firstly, after moisturizing my skin i apply Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in ‘Light’ (£25) as it is oil-free and helps keep my makeup in place.

Step 2: BB Cream

Then i apply my Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One BB Cream (£9.99) all over my face to  even out my skin tone yet still keep me looking natural.

Step 3: Concealer

Then i apply my Collection 2000 ‘Lasting Perfection’ concealer (£4.19) under my eyes and to any other imperfections on my face.

Step 4: Powder

I then apply a small amount of Bare Minerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation (£25) all over my face with a big fluffy brush to keep my concealer and BB cream in place and prevent my skin from getting oily throughout the day.

Step 5: Blusher

My Body Shop blusher in ’01 Petal’ (£12) is then applied to the apples of my cheeks in downward strokes for a natural looking glow.

Step 6: Eye Shadow

I then apply my Clinique Colour Surge Stay Matte eye shadow in ‘French Vanilla’ all over my eyelids to make me look brighter and more awake. It also stops my eyelids from becoming greasy so my mascara won’t smudge everywhere.

Step 7: Mascara

I prefer to use mascaras with quite a dry formula so they last longer, my favourite at the moment is 17 Blow Out Mascara (£6.29). I apply a few coats of this after I’ve curled my eyelashes and it stays perfect all day.

Step 8: Eyeliner

I like to apply a creamy white eyeliner to my water line to make my eyes look wider. My favourite is Barry M Kohl Eye Pencil as it glides on easily and stays put.
