DIY At Home Facial

Giving yourself a facial at home is a great way to keep your skin both looking and feeling it’s best; I love to treat myself once or twice a week to keep any spots at bay.

The first step I take is to remove any makeup I have on using the Soap and Glory ‘drama clean 5-in-1 micellar cleansing water’ (£4) on a cotton pad. This ensures my skin is being properly cleansed in the next step.

Next I cleanse using Murad’s ‘environmental shield essential-c cleanser'(£26) which washes away daily environmental aggressors and infuses skin with moisture.

I then remove any dry patches and brighten my skin using the Guinot ‘Facial Radiance Gommage Biologique Biological Peeling Radiance Gel'(£30). I use a pea sized amount and massage it into my face for a few minutes until it warms and turns into an oily texture, then I rinse it away and I’m left with soft, glowing skin.(Sample size)

After this I apply the Liz Earle ‘Deep cleansing mask'(£17.50) to my t-zone and on any blemishes to reduce oiliness and draw out impurities; I leave it on for 10 minutes then rinse.

The last step is to apply Origins ‘Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask'(£25) all over my face and 111skins ‘space defence bright eye lift gel'(£110) to my under eyes. When I wake up my skin looks radiant and clear and my dark circles are banished.

Review: Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil

Finally, an oil for fine hair!

I’ve tried and tested multiple different oils for my fine yet frizzy hair over the past few years and had almost given up my search until I tried this. The Liz Earle botanical shine nourishing hair oil is extremely lightweight and can be used either before blow drying to minimise drying time and protect against heat, or after to help tame fly away and smooth the hair. I personally like to use it prior to drying as I feel it is most effective at keeping my hair looking sleek, but if i notice any fly aways afterwards i’ll use it to help with those too.
My hair has honestly never felt so healthy and strong, and along with doing my coconut oil hair mask (which I mention in my haircare routine for long hair)  once a week I’ve noticed a huge reduction in split ends.

Top 3 Perfumes

I’ve tried out a lot of perfumes and have found three that I absolutely love and would repurchase again and again so I thought I would share them with you.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence No.15

This is honestly one of the most amazing perfumes I’ve ever owned, it smells absolutely divine and lasts for days on both your skin and clothes.

Pamper Night Essentials/Routine

After a long week at work I love to unwind and having an evening to myself to do a face pack and pamper myself is the perfect way to do it!

I start off by removing any makeup i have on with my Olay wipes and then i clean my skin with my Garnier PureActive 3in1 wash, scrub and mask as it targets any blemishes.

I then usually light a candle, at the moment i’m using Glade’s spiced apple and cinnamon which smells amazing!

After this I run my bath and wash my hair, at the moment i’m using Tresseme Keratin Smooth shampoo. Then I apply my deep treatment mask which i leave on my ends for around 10 minutes to soak in. These products leave my hair feeling extremely soft and healthy.

After this I use my Soap&Glory Sugar crush body scrub to leave me feeling smooth and get rid of any dead skin. I then wash my body with my passion fruit shower gel from The Body Shop.

After I’ve shaved my legs using my Gillete venus embrace razor I rinse my hair. Once I’m dry I apply my passion fruit body butter from the Body Shop to keep my skin soft and supple and put on my pyjamas.

My l’occitane shea butter foot cream is fantastic at smoothing any dry patches I have on my feet, so I normally apply it after my bath and put on my cosy socks to help it sink in.

The face mask I use (and love!) at the moment is the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask. It’s great for dealing with oily, spot prone skin without being over drying.

When 10 minutes is up I rinse off the mask and apply my Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in light and my Boots vitamin e eye cream.

I would then paint and file my nails and once they dry put on my Soap&Glory hand food hand cream.

And that’s all of my pamper night essential products.

Weekly Favourite

Each week I’m going to tell you about my favourite thing; whether it be a person, product or something else.

This weeks favourite is Boots Simply Sensitive Gently Refreshing Toner

I recently ran out of my Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic and decided to try out a cheaper brand as I just couldn’t face paying for a new one. I got this one for £2.69 and have used it every day since. It works absolutely brilliantly at removing any leftover makeup and dirt on my skin and doesn’t irritate it in the slightest. I think it’s a brilliant product for people with sensitive yet oily skin as it is extremely cleansing and leaves no residue.

Skincare Routine

I’m always a little bit sceptical about trying out new skincare products as my skin is extremely sensitive, but after using the Liz Earle cleanse and polish for a long time i decided to give some more of her products a try. Since doing this I have noticed a HUGE difference in both the texture and appearance of my skin, so i’m going to share with you my skincare routine and explain the products I’ve been using so you can try them out and see the results for yourself!

Step 1: Cleanse

To cleanse my skin I’ve been using the Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser. I massage the product into dry skin and then wipe it away with a muslin cloth soaked in hand hot water. This removes all of my makeup (including most of my eye makeup) whilst still being extremely gentle my skin.

Step 2: Tone

I’ve been using the Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic as a toner, i put a small amount on a cotton pad and gently sweep it across my face and neck. This instantly refreshes my skin and leaves it feeling soft and extremely clean yet not at all dry, it also removes dirt that you wouldn’t even imagine was still on your skin after cleansing.

Step 3: Moisturise

I then use the Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in Light for combination/oily skin to keep my skin feeling soft and hydrated; I apply a pea sized amount of this to my face and neck and allow it to sink in before applying any makeup. It is extremely light and doesn’t make my skin feel greasy at all which can be a problem for people with oily skin, however it also comes in slightly different formulas to suit different skin types.

Step 4: Eye Cream

Lastly I use the Liz Earle eyebright soothing eye lotion. I apply it to a cotton pad and sweep it over my eyelashes to remove any excess makeup (if there is any) and then soak my under eyes with it. This lotion is also fantastic at soothing dry, tired and puffy eyes and brightening the entire eye area.

I bought all of these products myself on the Liz Earle website (http://uk.lizearle.com/skin-essentials-regime) and am extremely impressed with how well they work both with my skin and with each other to give me fantastic results.

Weekly Favourite

Each week I’m going to tell you about my favourite thing; whether it be a person, product or something else.

This weeks favourite is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I absolutely adore this cleanser, it wipes of every trace of my makeup (including the most stubborn mascara) with minimal effort. All you do is massage it into dry skin, then wipe away grime and stubborn mascara using the muslin cloth supplied.

It is a bit on the pricey side at £24 for 200ml however only a small amount is required and honestly, it’s worth paying for a product that really works.

Do any of you have a favourite cleanser? Or have you tried the Cleanse & Polish before?
