I recently got even more cut off my hair and am loving it! It’s so easy to style and maintain. Today I decided to sport some soft, barely there tousled curls! Stay tuned for more hairstyle posts in the coming weeks!
All I did was wash my hair with my Alberto Balsam ‘coconut and lychee’ shampoo which I absolutely love as it works so well and is really affordable at £1! Then I sprayed on some of my Dove ‘oxygen moisture root lift spray’ which gives my limp my hair a lot of volume and I applied some argan oil to the ends. After this I took sections around one and a half inches wide and used my GHD straightners to curl the hair in varying directions for a more natural look. After around 5 minutes of letting the curls set I tipped my head upside down and ran my fingers through to loosen them up and sprayed some hairspray to help the style last. Quick and easy – perfect for everyday!
What do you think? Do any of you have any tips for styling short hair?
When searching the internet for easy ways to get curls in my hair overnight I came across this extremely easy trick to add gorgeous curls into any hair type! My hair is long, straight and flat so it can be a challenge to get any sort of texture in it without using hot tools – which takes forever! However, since I started twist braiding my hair while it’s damp I haven’t had to curl my hair for weeks and just wake up with amazing natural volume and casual soft waves.
All I do is part my damp hair into two sections and then tightly twist braid it and put it into two buns at the nape of my neck. If you aren’t sure how to do this, follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsGuWokn47A
The next morning all I need to do gently undo the braids and buns and add some hairspray, brilliant if you’re in a rush!
The waves also look amazing thrown into a high ponytail (as seen below).
Do any of you have any heatless ways to add volume and texture into straight hair?
I created these soft curls/waves using the ‘headband curls’ method i found on Youtube. It’s extremely easy and heat free, so try it out for yourself by following this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLeSKaPaUOA
I purchased Remington’s Pearl wand a few months ago after hearing fantastic reviews on it, however I was slightly sceptical whether it was actually going to work. I’d used a large variety of curling products before but my hair never seemed to hold a curl, it would just drop into a flat mess after a few hours no matter how much hairspray I used.
This wand is absolutely brilliant! It turns my naturally pin-straight hair into fantastic voluminous curls and holds them there for days. It’s also extremely quick to do, I usually only hold each section of hair around the wand for around 5-10 seconds. The appliance comes with a heat proof pouch and glove which I would advise you to use as the barrel gets extremely hot!
Overall it is an absolutely amazing curling wand and I would recommend it to anyone as the barrel makes it easy to create any type of curl, from tight ringlets to loose waves which stay in without the use of hairspray!
