With 2016 coming to an end I thought that I would share with you some of the products I’ve been loving this year.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I discovered this toner in October and have been using it every day since. My skin feels smoother and there is definitely a reduction in blemishes which I think is down to the 5% glycolic acid; it also does wonders for blackheads.
It retails at around £18 for 250ml
Boot’s tea tree and witch hazel charcoal face mask
I use this mask twice a week as it helps to diminish spots and is an absolute bargain at £3.89 for 50ml.
Maybelline 24 hour setting spray
Finding this setting spray has seriously changed my life, it locks my makeup in place meaning it looks just as good at 5pm as it did when I applied it at 6am.
It retails at £6.99

What are you getting for your mum this Christmas?
Step 1 – Prime
It’s so important to use a oil free primer to keep your makeup in place all day, my favourite is the body shops ‘tea tree pore minimiser’ (£8.50)
Step 2 – Foundation
The L’oreal infallible matte 24 hour foundation (£7.99) stays in place all day and gives amazing natural looking coverage. To apply this I use the real techniques expert face brush (£9.99).
Step 3 – Concealer
Collection lasting perfection concealer (£4.19) is perfect for concealing under eye circles and blemishes, to blend i use the real techniques miracle complexion sponge (£9.99 for pack of two).
Step 4 – Powder
Next I use the bareMinerals spf 20 pressed powder (£26) to set everything.
Step 5 and 6 – Bronzer and blush
I then use the bronzer and blush from the Rimmel Kate sculpting pallette (£6.99) with the brushes from my bare minerals starter kit.
Step 7 – Brows
Benefit’s ‘gimme brow’ (£18.50) gives my eyebrows shape and definition without looking drawn on.
Step 8 – Eyeshadow
I like to apply a small amount of Maybelline’s colour tattoo 24 hour shadow in ‘on and on bronze’ (£4.99).
Step 9 – Mascara
I curl my lashes and apply my favourite mascara of the moment which is the Maybelline lash sensational (£7.99).
Step 10 – Lips
Lastly I use Benefit’s posie balm (£14.50) for a subtle hint of colour.

I recently returned from a fantastic four day break in Barcelona and bought some lovely things that I thought I’d share with you!
This gorgeous green shirt is from Stradivarius and cost around 23 euros which is amazing as i’ve worn it three times and only been back a week! It can easily be dressed up with a necklace and boots or down with light jeans and vans.
These shorts are from a little boutique shop that I stumbled across and I can’t remember the name of it! They only cost 7.99 and are going to be a summer staple with plain t-shirts.
I got this clutch bag from the same shop as I got the shorts and it was only 4 euros. It’s going to be perfect to take on my holiday to Greece as it will go with all of my outfits for both day and night.
I got this face mask from Sephora for around 3 euros and was really looking forward to trying it but I must have done something wrong as it set before I could even apply it!
I also bought these two sheet masks from Sephora as I’ve heard they’re really good. They only cost 1.50 too which is a total bargain.
Grey lace up bodysuit from H&M
Shirt from Stradivarius
Jeans from Mango
Shoes are Vans
Necklace from Hsamuel
Watch is Caravelle New York
Ring I got on holiday in Greece
I also wore my favourite Rayban ‘Clubmaster’ sunglasses as the weather was lovely!
After years of trying out different products of all price ranges in a desperate attempt to clear up my oily, acne prone skin i’ve definitely learnt a lot. Two ingredients which really work for me are charcoal and tea tree, which can conveniently be found in extremely affordable brands, meaning having great skin doesn’t have to break the bank.
I’ve raved about the Biore deep pore charcoal cleanser in the past and i’m still loving it and using it twice a day.
It retails at £4.99
For toner I’ve been using the Boot’s tea tree and witch hazel cleansing and toning lotion to help remove any excess makeup and grime left over after washing my face. It leaves my skin feeling balanced and looking clear and matte and is a total bargain at £3.59 for a 150ml bottle.
The Boot’s tea tree and witch hazel jelly moisturiser is my favourite at the moment, its light and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and healthy. The only problem is that it doesn’t contain any SPF so I tend to wear a separate sun cream throughout the day to protect my skin. It retails at £4.59 for a 50ml bottle.
I can’t stress how important it is to protect your skin with a cream containing SPF every day, not only does it protect you from the suns harmful rays it also keeps your skin looking younger for longer – a no brainer really! I haven’t found a facial sunscreen up to now that i love as much as the Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch one so if anyone has any suggestions for a cheaper alternative that isn’t too heavy let me know! I got my current bottle for £10 from Amazon as it isn’t sold in the UK.
Lately i’ve been really enjoying using the Superdrug vitamin e hydrating cream as it’s thick but not too heavy for day use and my concealer applies perfectly on top of it. It retails at only £2.99 which is amazing as one little 15ml tube lasts me a good 6 months.
I bought this Jason ‘apricot scrubble’ from feel unique around February time as it was on sale but wasn’t really expecting much from it. Since then i’ve used it twice a week religiously to keep my skin soft and banish any pesky dry patches, it’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin whilst still being extremely effective. It retails at £5.49.
The Garnier pure cleansing micellar water removes all traces of makeup and doesn’t require any rinsing afterwards – perfect for when you can’t be bothered to carry out your whole skincare routine. It retails at around £5 but is on sale quite often.
