February 2018 Glossybox Unboxing

I’ve really missed receiving a glossybox each month so was overjoyed that I got given a subscription for my birthday! As usual its filled with five lovely products I can’t wait to try.
This gorgeous ‘vintage romance’ palette from Sleek (RRP £8.99) was the first thing I got, it contains 12 colours which will cover you from day to night. Ciate nail polishes have always been a favourite of mine so I know I’m going to love this one in ‘racing queen’ (RRP £6). This Steve Laurent lip gloss in ‘Nude Pop’ (RRP £17) is going straight in my handbag. It leaves a gorgeous tint to the lips and the rose gold packaging is so luxurious.I’m really looking forward to using this Skin Chemists London 24-Hour Aqua Repair Facial Serum (RRP £64) which is is formulated to soothe and hydrate the skin for all day moisture. Also included is Studio 10 Beauty’s Makeup Mist Glow-Plexion (Travel size £14) which instantly primes, refreshes and hydrates dull, lacklustre skin. It can also be used as a makeup setting spray.

May 2017 Glossybox Unboxing

The first product I saw was this detoxifying activated charcoal body scrub from scrub love with cucumber and bamboo. It is said to be 100% natural and to exfoliate, tighten pores and leave your skin looking and feeling nourished. My skin has been so dry lately so I can’t wait to give it a go!

This sample size of the Caudalie vinosource moisturising sorbet for sensitive skin has a gel-cream to water consistency which is supposed to help soothe and moisturise sensitive skin without irritating it. I’m looking forward to trying it out as it seems quite lightweight for the summer months when my skin is at its oiliest.

The coral shade of this gorgeous Ruby super silky blush suits my complexion perfectly and is definitely a new favourite.

A tube of Dr Paw Paw’s original balm was also included in the box, it is an extremely versatile product. The natural, gentle formula can be used on cuticles, hands, elbows, fly away hair, lips and even as a nappy cream! It’s definitely going straight in my handbag.

The last product was this volumising effect lip gloss from Nutrakiss which is a perfect travel size and leaves me with plumped up lips for hours.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl Addict

I’m a huge fan of the original 2000 calorie mascara, and max factor mascaras in general, so when I saw the new curl addict mascara being advertised I knew I had to try it out. It claims to ‘create outrageous volume’ while ‘lifting and curling lashes for a wide awake look’ which sounds perfect to someone with limp straight eyelashes.

It’s definitely a new favourite! It holds a curl perfectly and doesn’t flake or smudge all day long. I also don’t need my eyelash curler when using it as it does such a great job on its own.

It retails at £7.99

February 2017 Glossybox Unboxing

I received my first ever glossy box a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised. It came gorgeously packaged in this ‘LOVE’ box to celebrate valentines day and contained five lovely products, four of which were full size. I can’t wait to try them all out!

The first item I pulled out was this L’eau de rose perfume by Jeanne Arthes which smells divine, i’m usually not a huge fan of rose scents as they’re overpowering but this one is really light and girly. It’s also perfect handbag size so you can have a spritz when you need a boost throughout the day.

The second product that I saw was this Ciate nail varnish in ‘fade to greige’. I’m definitely going to be using this, I love this kind of colour on pale skin it’s so flattering.

This Garnier ultimate blends intense care hair mask could not have arrived at a better time, my hair has been so dry since getting it dyed. It’s also a great sized sample and could last for a couple of uses.

The box also contained this mineral-rich volcanic face mask enriched with anti-aging ingredients which helps to cleanse and purify the skin. It’s going to be great for removing all of the dirt and grime off my face at the end of the day and leave it smooth and clear.

This lipstick from MDM flow in the shade ‘Bossy’ lasts all day on the lips as the semi-matte formula gives you the matte look without the cracked, dry lips – love it!

Everyday Makeup Routine For Oily Skin

Step 1 – Prime

It’s so important to use a oil free primer to keep your makeup in place all day, my favourite is the body shops ‘tea tree pore minimiser’ (£8.50)

Step 2 – Foundation

The L’oreal infallible matte 24 hour foundation (£7.99) stays in place all day and gives amazing natural looking coverage. To apply this I use the real techniques expert face brush (£9.99).

Step 3 – Concealer

Collection lasting perfection concealer (£4.19) is perfect for concealing under eye circles and blemishes, to blend i use the real techniques miracle complexion sponge (£9.99 for pack of two).

Step 4 – Powder

Next I use the bareMinerals spf 20 pressed powder (£26) to set everything.

Step 5 and 6 – Bronzer and blush

I then use the bronzer and blush from the Rimmel Kate sculpting pallette (£6.99) with the brushes from my bare minerals starter kit.

Step 7 – Brows

Benefit’s ‘gimme brow’ (£18.50) gives my eyebrows shape and definition without looking drawn on.

Step 8 – Eyeshadow

I like to apply a small amount of Maybelline’s colour tattoo 24 hour shadow in ‘on and on bronze’ (£4.99).

Step 9 – Mascara

I curl my lashes and apply my favourite mascara of the moment which is the Maybelline lash sensational (£7.99).

Step 10 – Lips

Lastly I use Benefit’s posie balm (£14.50) for a subtle hint of colour.

L’Oreal Paris False Lash Sculpt Mascara

After running out of the third bottle of my beloved Kiko ‘ultra tech curve’ mascara I was looking around in Boot’s to try out something different. I decided to buy the L’Oreal Paris false lash sculpting mascara because it was on offer and the brush looked quite intriguing.

Image result for L’Oreal Paris false lash sculpting

The sculpting brush is said to ‘line the waterline for a tightlining effect with no gaps and sculpts out lashes, defining them to reveal sculpted looking lashes from every angle.’

At first I wasn’t sure as the plastic brush looked like it would leave my straight, limp lashes looking clumpy but with just one coat they were left long and thick. It’s also very buildable and lasts perfectly all day – the photos above were taken at around 5.30pm and I applied it at 6am! I will definitely be repurchasing.

It retails at around £7.99

Top 3 Lipsticks For Winter

I absolutely love experimenting with different lipsticks, especially in the winter months. Bold lips are also a great way to dress up your look without having to put any extra effort in, perfect for lazy girls!  I’m going to share with you my top three favourites for pale skin.

#1 Topshop ‘Inhibition’

This lipstick is a gorgeous dark berry colour which is perfect for Christmas parties! It goes on smoothly and leaves an incredibly pigmented matte finish which lasts for hours – even after eating! I can’t wait to try more from Topshop’s makeup line in the future.

#2 Natural collection ‘Berry Blush’

This lipstick is perfect if your looking to try out a new colour but don’t want to spend a lot as it only costs £1.99!  It’s also a more subtle way to wear a berry shade making it great for everyday wear.

#3 Rimmels ‘Diva Red’

This is the most moisturising of the three, I have really chapped lips at the moment but this just glides over my lips and doesn’t sink into any dry patches. I love the colour too, its the only red shade i’ve found that compliments my ghostly white skin.

Weekly Favourite – Benefit Gimme Brow

Benefit Gimme Brow is a tinted brow-volumizing fiber gel. It looks almost like a mini mascara and needs to be applied in gentle strokes until you reach the desired look. Most importantly, it gives an extremely natural  looking finish and is quick and easy to use; perfect for when you’re doing your makeup in a hurry.

Its also has amazing staying power, I wear it for around 12 hours on average and it does not budge at all! I’ll definitely be repurchasing.Benefit Gimme Brow Medium Deep review
