10 Favourite Items In My Wardrobe

I’ve seen this tag on various fashion blogs and thought I would give it a go. I tag all of you to join in too.

All you have to do is pick out your 10 favourite clothing items, say where they’re from and what you like about them.

From left to right:

  • Tu green dress with zip detail – I love this dress,  its so flattering and looks great with a pair of brown sandals and minimal accessories.
  • Jane Norman black button down dress – This dress is extremely basic yet flattering and can be dressed up or down for different occasions.
  • M Butterfly dress with flower top – This dress is really pretty and girly. It’s also extremely flattering as it accentuates my waist.
  • House Of Fraser leather jacket – This jacket is absolutely gorgeous and goes with almost everything. The leather is also extremely soft and hugs my figure perfectly.
  • Warehouse trench coat – I got this last year, and haven’t stopped wearing it since. It makes me feel really grown up and I love the way it looks.

From left to right:

  • Gap striped halter neck top – I love this top, it hangs really nice and looks great in the summer. The rope strap detail is also very unique.
  • Blue Skirt – My mam made this suede skirt when she was younger and recently gave it to me. It looks amazing when worn with a basic white t-shirt and sandals.
  • Tkmaxx lace shirt – This shirt looks great with a plain vest and jeans as it adds detail and makes the outfit look more girly.
  • H&M suede jacket – I love this jacket as it is a great alternative to my biker jacket during the summer. It also adds colour to a plain outfit.
  • Denim jacket – This jacket was actually my dads, but I changed it to fit me and added flower detail to the pocket and cuffs. I love it because it is one of a kind.

Top 5 Summer Essentials

I’m going to share with you 5 of my absolute essential skin and hair care items for these hot summer months.

Lipbalm

My lips always get extremely dry and cracked during the summer, so I always make sure that I use a good quality lip balm with SPF in it to not only stop them getting chapped, but to protect them from the sun too.

One of my favourites at the moment is Carmex cherry lip balm as it lasts for ages on my lips, smells amazing and has SPF 15.

Sunscreen

It’s also extremely important to protect your skin from the sun, so I use Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock.

I’ve got a review of this here.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is absolutely brilliant. It can be used as a hair mask twice a week to help promote healthy growth and leaves your hair feeling so soft! All you do is apply it from root to tip, then leave it for at least half an hour and wash it out. It’s also a brilliant moisturiser to use on those drier areas such as your elbows and knees.

Light Moisturiser

Having oily skin in the summertime is awful, it just seems to look ten times worse. However, changing my moisturiser during the summer to Neutrogena’s visibly clear oil free moisturiser helps to stop my skin getting as shiny throughout the day. The extremely light formula also helps to prevent breakouts.

BB cream

BB cream is a great alternative to foundation during the summer as it covers up any imperfections whilst still being extremely lightweight and natural looking. I use Garnier’s BB cream, you can find a review here.

I hope i’ve given you some tips or ideas.

Weekly Favourite

Each week I’m going to tell you about my favourite thing; whether it be a person, product or something else.

My favourite this week is Coconut oil.

Product Image For <br />Pure Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been an absolute staple in my daily routine; it removes my make up, moisturises my skin and leaves my hair unbelievably soft and healthy.

I got my coconut oil from Holland and Barrett, however I’m sure you’ll be able to find it in similar shop near you.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock

Wearing a sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun is extremely important, especially during the summer time. However, having oily skin makes this extremely difficult as most sun creams tend to be really greasy and make my skin look awful.

Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock sinks into my skin extremely quickly due to its non-greasy formula and leaves the skin with a matte finish; this means that it does not clog my pores and cause me acne like other sunblocks. It also means that my makeup lasts longer as my skin is less oily, bonus!

The cream comes in various SPF values up to 100+, therefore you will be able to find the one that suits you. So if your in the market for a great sunscreen, Neutrogena’s ultra sheer dry-touch sunblock a brilliant alternative to ones from higher end brands. Unfortunately it is unavailable to buy in the UK, however if you order it online it retails at around $10 which isn’t bad at all, especially for something that works so well.

No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make up Remover

Let me start out by telling you how awfully sensitive my skin is; using something too harsh can cause it to turn into a huge uncomfortable rash. This makes removing my eye make up at night an incredibly daunting task, as most of the time I’m left with puffy, sore eyes.

That was until I started using No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make up Remover. After trying other make up removers from brands such as Simple and having awful results I had pretty much given up. However, after one use of this product I knew I was going to repurchase it. It takes off every last trace of even the most stubborn mascara, whilst still being extremely gentle on my skin. The 100ml bottle lasts for months too as only a small amount is needed to cleanse each eye.

It retails at around £7.75 which isn’t too bad as it works absolutely brilliantly. I honestly could not recommend this enough, especially if you have skin like mine.

Review: Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel

Avon never fails to impress me; their affordable products are always amazing quality. This nail varnish is no different, it dries within thirty seconds (which is perfect if you’re as impatient as me) and leaves your nails with a glossy, streak free finish. It also lasts at least a week before chipping, which is always a plus. Mine is in the shade ‘Ballerina’ however I think I may purchase another one of the six gorgeous shades they sell.

Retails at £6.00

My most used..

Everyone has those few staple items which they really couldn’t replace, despite how many new things they buy. For example; a bag which goes with every outfit, or a pair of extremely comfortable shoes.

I’m going to show you my all time favourite items, from clothes to make up.

My most used:

Lipstick

This lipstick is amazing, it is extremely moisturising and gives your lips the perfect subtle peachy/orange colour. It is from Avon and is in the shade ‘silky peach’.

Foundation

I use this mineral foundation on a daily basis. It gives an extremely natural look as if you aren’t wearing foundation at all, whilst still covering  your imperfections. Mine is in the shade ‘fairly light’.

 Blusher

This blusher is from The Body Shop and is in the shade ’01 Petal’. It’s absolutely brilliant and gives even the dullest skin an instant, natural looking glow.

Nail Polish

I love this coral coloured nail polish from Collection 2000. The shade (‘fruit salad’) is perfect for summer and lasts for a long time.

Perfume

I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite between these two perfumes, they both smell amazing! Loverdose by Diesel is quite a strong scent, whereas Elizabeth Arden’s Sunflowers is light, fresh and perfect for everyday wear.

Hair product

This leave in conditioner from Avon is a life saver, it makes my hair so soft and lasts for three washes. I apply it once a week to the ends of my hair after showering and it helps to prevent split ends and keeps my hair looking and feeling healthy.

Moisturiser

The Body Shop’s coconut body butter is absolutely brilliant; it smells amazing, sinks in really well and keeps my skin so soft.

Earrings

These earrings are my absolute favourite;  they go with everything and are the perfect size. Unfortunately, I’m not sure where they’re from as they were a birthday gift.

Bag

I got this bag from H&M last year and I haven’t stopped wearing it since. It’s a really good size and allows me to carry just the right amount.

Shoes

These shoes go with everything and are extremely comfortable. They were a bargain too; I got them for £10 from Madhouse.

Coat

I wear this coat from from House of Fraser constantly; the leather is so soft and it is extremely flattering. It was a little bit pricey originally, however I got it on sale for £100 from £275 .
